Whole Wheat Cheela (Savory Pancakes)


This quick and easy recipe is perfect for a nutritious breakfast, snack, or light meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Sahaj Bhog Atta

  • ½ cup finely chopped onions

  • ¼ cup finely chopped capsicum (bell peppers)

  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped coriander leaves

  • 1-2 green chilies, finely chopped (optional)

  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder

  • ½ teaspoon red chili powder (optional)

  • Salt to taste

  • Water as needed to make a smooth batter

  • Oil or ghee for cooking


Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine Sahaj Bhog Atta, onions, capsicum, coriander leaves, green chilies (if using), turmeric powder, red chili powder (if using), and salt.

  2. Gradually add water, mixing well to form a smooth, lump-free batter of medium consistency (like dosa batter).

  3. Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat. Grease it lightly with oil or ghee.

  4. Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the hot pan and spread it in a circular motion to make a thin pancake.

  5. Cook on medium heat until the bottom turns golden brown. Drizzle a little oil or ghee around the edges.

  6. Flip gently and cook the other side until it is also golden brown.

  7. Serve hot with your favorite chutney, yogurt, or pickle.
